This is suitable for travelers who would wish to spend a day in Moshi or Arusha and then embark on another adventure or activity. A day visit to Arusha National Park will avail an opportunity to see fascinating scenery on Mt. Meru and its environs. It’s a memorable short trip.

Your drive to the national parks will be done in special converted safari vehicle driven by a well-trained driver / guide. We use very comfortable vehicles to make you enjoy your safari even if is over a long drive of up to five or six hours in a day.

After breakfast drive for about two hours (60 kms) to Momella Gate. After securing permit you drive into the national park. The animal life in the park is abundant. You can spot the black-and-white colobus monkeys, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, bushbucks, hyenas and leopards. Also more than 400 species of birds have been recorded in the park, such as pelicans, flamingos, hornbills, fish and snake eagles and buzzards. The park’s three most significant features include the Mount Meru (Tanzania’s second highest peak), the beautiful Momela Lakes and the 3km wide Ngurdoto Crater. When the clouds are clear you can even see the snow-capped peaks of the Kilimanjaro. After game drive you will be dropped at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.

Day Safari Itinerary to Arusha National Park

Itinerary:

06:00 AM – Pick-up from Arusha Town
– Tourists will be picked up from their hotel or a designated meeting point in Arusha Town.
– Brief introduction and safety guidelines by the tour guide.
– Departure towards Arusha National Park (approximately 1 hour drive).

07:00 AM – Arrival at Arusha National Park
– Arrival at the park’s entrance gate.

07:30 AM – Game Drive Begins
– Start the game drive with a focus on exploring the different ecosystems within the park, including grasslands, forests, and swamps.

– Enjoy the scenic views of Mount Meru and the Momella Lakes.

09:30 AM – Visit to Ngurdoto Crater
– Drive to Ngurdoto Crater, also known as the “Little Ngorongoro.”
– Stop at the crater’s rim for breathtaking views and photo opportunities.
– Learn about the crater’s formation and its significance from the tour guide.

11:00 AM – Canoe Safari at Momella Lakes (Optional)
– Tourists can opt for a canoe safari on the Momella Lakes.
– Observe waterbirds like flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants up close.
– Enjoy the tranquility and natural beauty of the lakes.

12:30 PM – Picnic Lunch at a Designated Picnic Site
– Enjoy a packed picnic lunch at one of the park’s scenic picnic sites.
– Relax and take in the surrounding nature.

01:30 PM – Continue with Game Drive
– Resume the game drive, heading towards different parts of the park.
– Visit the Fig Tree Arch, a natural archway formed by a giant fig tree.
– Look out for more wildlife and enjoy the diverse flora of the park.

03:00 PM – Visit to Mount Meru Waterfall
– Short hike to the Mount Meru Waterfall, a hidden gem within the park.
– Enjoy the refreshing sight and sound of the waterfall.
– Opportunity for photos and a short rest.

04:30 PM – Return Game Drive Towards the Exit
– Gradually make your way back towards the park’s exit gate.
– Last chance to spot wildlife and capture final photos.

05:30 PM – Departure from Arusha National Park
– Exit the park and begin the drive back to Arusha Town.
– Reflect on the day’s experiences and share stories with fellow travelers.

06:30 PM – Drop-off at Arusha Town
– Tourists will be dropped off at their respective hotels or the designated drop-off point.
– End of the day safari.
